So apparently growing your own weed is quite tricky. There’s a lot of stuff to get right – you need a load of room, lights, temperature control, water, a few spare months and God knows what else. Oh yes, shit loads of paranoia.

I’ve always quite fancied growing actually, but never got around to it mostly for the reasons above. Pain in the arse.

So, whilst perusing the Internet yesterday I discovered that there is such a thing as auto flowering dwarf cannabis seeds. Plants that are small like bonsai trees, yet only require five or six weeks to reach the flowering stage. You just miss out all the crap and go straight into the bud. These babies are called Lowryder.

As I’ve recently moved house and have a little more outside space this is a no brainer for me. I ordered some straight away!

I also forgot to mention that these seeds will flower under 24 hour light. That’s what they say anyway.

No doubt these plants will flower/bud up and produce THC but you really want to get a mother plant up and running under 24hr light (preferably a metal halide bulb 250w minimum).
each strain of cuttings you take from the mother will be stronger.
also pruning the plants (aka nipping the shoots) will help keep the plants small and compact without growing into a 6 ft tree with nodes every 1ft
Much better to keep the plants down to a size of about 2ft maximum.
to get them growing get them under a 400w sodium bulb (minimum) and keep the lights about 10-12 inches from the top of the plant.give them 4 weeks of crazy growth (remembering to keep nipping the tips back to keep the plants compact

then week 5 start using 20 hrs of light per day. week 6 drop this to 16hrs, week 7 drop it to 12hrs,week 8 drop it to 10hrs (you will now be seeing plenty of bud / flower action and now the THC glands will start to swell)
now they will look familliar (the glistening buds we all now and love)
HOWEVER..do not be tempted to yeild the crop yet.
give them 1 more week at 4hrs of light per day.as the buds mature and the resin glands swell up you will notice an insane pungency to the buds and they will also take on a browny/oily resin colour)
now is the time to crop the plants.give them a good week or 2 to dry out

obviously every differnt strain of bud has a different flowering period, Big Bud for example flowers in about 8 weeks,you can get other strains that only take 4 -6 weeks to mature,so just adapt my walkthrough to the timeframe of the bud being grown.
